Life

It just keeps rolling along. Here's a little of what has happened recently.

Kindergarten graduation

6th grade graduation

Be still my heart. These are always tear jerkers for me. Thanks goodness I didn't have high school graduation as well. I still am having a hard time realizing that my oldest is a senior. How did she grow up so fast? I'm not that old.

Our weekends have been filled with dance competitions. 4 different competitions, including a trip to Logan. Minnie's team took first in everything at all four competitions.  It's always bitter sweet to see the end of such hard work. I will miss watching this years dances and their beautiful costumes.

When not at a competitions we have been watching soccer games for Tator and Bud Boy. When one thing ends another begins which then meant ice skating lessons for Tator and baseball for Bud Boy.

And just because life isn't adventurous enough we are potty training.

Capitol Reef

My third daughter has been commenting that she wants to go an a "summer vacation." Apparently having Dad off work for 6 months didn't count. Unfortunately summer plans had to be postponed to next year. During Spring Break we were able to go on a trip.  For now, we will just have to remember our recent trip and how blessed where we to be able to take it.

We camped at the group site in the Fruita campground of Capitol Reef for two nights.

The campground gets its name from the fruit orchards surrounding it. If you go when the fruit is in season you can pick and eat for free whatever you want as long as you are in the orchards. Maybe we'll have to remember this for the future. This time around we just enjoyed the blossoms.

We also enjoyed watching wildlife amongst the orchards and irrigation water.

On our first day, after setting up camp we did a short hike just outside our campsite.  I couldn't help but take some pictures of these cuties

.
along the trail which lead to an overlook view.

We were privileged to be able to camp with all of my side of the family that lives here locally. Once everyone had arrived we all hiked to Capitol Gorge.

Looking at pioneer names and dates

Towards the end of the trial, while Courtney had a complete meltdown, the others explored what is known as the water tanks.

The next day we went to Hickman Bridge

Bud Boy loved finding side trails to crawl through.

Princess was much happier on this hike and loved spending time with cousins

while others explored the rocks and looked for lizards.

Look at that skinny man (recently lost over 30 lbs.)

Before lunch we stopped to look at the petroglyphs

That afternoon we walked Grand Wash

Lots of great spots to sit for a picture

Bud Boy had the time of his life with the radios and getting to talk with his cousins

Following the suit of her uncles, Jolly J enjoyed climbing to new heights

Princess started the hike out asleep. On the way out it took all mom and dad energy and efforts to keep her happy since all she wanted to do was just sit down and play (can't blame her).

Truly loved spending time with this crew!
