4th of July Fun

Wow how is it July already? My life is just filled with preparing for, enjoying and then preparing for one event after another. I can't seem to catch up, get ahead or find a few spare minutes. Unfortunately, it means I'm not documenting anything. It is amazing how fast you can forget things, especially the little details. I'm going to attempt to rectify that. I figured I might as well start  with the most recent and see what happens from there.

We love celebrating the 4th of July. It is two days filled with traditions.

First off is getting up early for the balloon festival

Glad the balloons were able to launch this year!

We then go out to eat for breakfast. In the afternoon we went swimming and then enjoyed  treats and fireworks with the neighborhood.

On the morning of the 4th, my husband, Jolly J, and Minnie are good to go down really early to save "our" spot for the parade.

This year my sister's brother even cooked us breakfast.

Doing pops is a favorite activity to pass the time until the parade starts.

We love interacting with family and watching the parade.

If we can stay away.

Karebear pulled an all nighter with friends to help save "their" spot. She said it was an interesting experience. One that involved the cops.

In the evening we invite BOTH sides of our family over for a BBQ. Quite the crowd we had this year (45 people).

Followed by fireworks. Ours and the many our neighbors shoot off around us.

Wouldn't be possible without this man and his trusty blow torch

It was a fantastic day that we loved spending with family, even though they managed to do this.

One really can have too many people on  a trampoline.

Lately we have loved watching American Ninja warrior. One night our kids were teasing Dad as to what he would need to do to be able to be a contestant. Jokingly, we came to the conclusion he would first have to be able to do a pull-up. Something he hasn't done much since his little accident.

Of all of us, Bud Boy loves watching ninja warrior. He often comments Dad should build him a training set in the backyard. Earlier this Spring we upgraded our swing set. It took quite a few hours to decided where to put this because of lack of space with the trampoline and trees. If we had known then how little trampoline life was left maybe we could have used the money and time it took to build the new swing set to fulfill Bud Boy's wishes. Too late now.

I bet my couches would last longer, though, if he had a place to practice ninja skills outside. HUM...........
