24th of July

This year for the 24th we were excited that Dad got it off. The blessing of working little closer to the state capital for this local holiday. We decided to start the day off with a little exercise and did the Temple to Temple 5k run. Apparently about 9,000 others had the same idea so it was much more of a walk then run.

We did this race with my sister and her family. Good thing it was pretty slow so we could keep up with this marathon runner.

I was so proud of my kids making it through this first time race for all of us. They were also troopers to run a lot on the treadmill the last few weeks in preparation for this.

After this we continued on with our tradition of going to the pioneer park. The first thing we did was stand in line for the log cutting. I always enjoy getting a souvenir piece of branded wood.

While standing in line, Princess and her cousin entertained us with their souvenir chick-fil-a cows.

Mooo
It was then off to look at log cabins and do a small wagon ride. Once everyone was hot and tired our girls convinced us to drive  to Sodalicious. Because that's an authentic pioneer drink, right? Anyway they were glad we stopped by so they could get a picture for their facebook page. 5minutes of fame and even got three likes!
