Here's our calendar for the next few months
October
- Hike amongst the leaves to Battle Creek Falls
- Learning and Living the Gospel-The sacrament. We are taking a lot of our ideas from here
November
- Jewelry. A member of our primary presidency makes bracelet using paper beads. She rolls strips of paper (any type-scrapbook, newspaper, magazine) and then dips them in mod podge.
- Good Nutrition. We discussed eating a balanced diet and what portions are. We had a bunch of pictures of food. We had the girls plan meals and snack for the one day using the pictures. We then went over each girls food and shared what was good and what maybe the should do differently. After ward we made smoothies. My partner even put spinach in to show the girls how we can sneak in vegetable. Since it is close to Thanksgiving we also made turkey apples (The apple is the body. Put gumdrops, colored marshmallows and raisins on toothpicks to make the feathers. A large marshmallow is used for the head).
December
- Scrapbook pictures from our hike and binder covers. (We give the new girls a binder when they turn eight. We have left the cover blank so they can scrapbook a page and make it their own).
- Learning and Living the Gospel-Happy Birthday Joseph Smith! Joseph's birthday is December 23. We are going to help the girls make a family home evening lessons-taking ideas from here. We will then have cake to celebrate Joseph Smith's birthday.
January
The first activity of the new year we traditionally have some time to get activity ideas from the girls. We want them to feel involved in the planning so they will want to come. Afterward we have games (each girl brings one) and lots of party treats.
